Arthur Joseph Seibel, 94 of Bloomer, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 18, 2017, at his home while under the care of MCHS Hospice. Arthur was born on February 17, 1923, to Frank and Mary (Bohl) Seibel, at home on a farm in the Town of Woodmohr.

On June 18, 1949, Arthur married Madonna Kellen at St Paul’s Catholic Church, Bloomer WI. Arthur and Madonna farmed until 1985 on the family farm. After retiring he continued to “supervise” at the farm for years.

Arthur is survived by his wife, Madonna of 68 years, two daughters, Marie (Thomas) Dachel, Victoria (Douglas) Schemenauer; three sons, Joseph (Sharon Ferg) Seibel, Charles (Diane Zwiefelhofer) Seibel and Kenneth Seibel.   He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, Janis (Brian) Lunemann, Richard (Tammy) Dachel, Tamara (Samuel) Nelson, Jodi (Todd) Bresina, Kevin (Frances) Schemenauer, Allison Seibel, Karissa Seibel, Adam (Chrissy) Seibel, Justin Seibel (Nikki Anderson) & Nicole (Aaron) Hoverson. Additional survivors are his 17 great-grandchildren, Forest, Colton & Alyxandria Lunemann, Kyle & Ryan Dachel, Xavier, Elexia, Aynzlie & Jezlyn Nelson, Brendan, Abigail & Samuel Bresina, Gabriel, Dominic & William Schemenauer, Claire & Garrett Seibel. Arthur is also survived by his brother, Francis (Kay) Seibel; sisters, Helen Kellen, Myra Severson, MaryAnn Benish, Marge (Harry) Spoden, & Dolores Clemons; sisters-in-law, Donna Kellen & Rosemary Kellen; and numerous nieces and nephews,

Arthur was preceded in death by his parents; sons, Timothy Seibel & one baby in infancy; granddaughter, Brenda Schemenauer; grandson, Matthew Seibel, great-grandsons, Devin & Logan Lunemann; sisters, Jean Keirns, Ilene Boese; sisters-in-law, Mary Kellen & Jean Kellen; brothers-in-law, Joseph Kellen, Aloysius Kellen Jr., Vernon Kellen, Eldred Kellen, Michael Kellen, Clarence Severson, Roland Benish, John Boese & Hugh Clemons.

Arthur was a member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church and the National Catholic Order of Foresters. He greatly enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, playing cards, watching the Green Bay Packers, Milwaukee Brewers & the Wisconsin Badgers. When he was desperate he resorted to watching the Minnesota Twins and Vikings.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, June 23, 2017, at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Bloomer, with Father John Potaczek celebrating the mass. Burial will be at St. Paul’s South Catholic Cemetery immediately following the Mass. A meal will be served in the church basement following the burial. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at Schriver-Thompson Funeral Home & Chippewa Valley Cremation Services in Bloomer and again one hour prior to mass Friday at the church. A Christian Vigil Service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Visitation

4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at Schriver-Thompson Funeral Home & Chippewa Valley Cremation Services in Bloomer and again one hour prior to mass Friday at the church.

Service

1 p.m. on Friday, June 23, 2017, at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Bloomer.
