SCHROEDER, Leon “Tuffy”, 84 of New Auburn passed away Wednesday, April 28, 2010 at Wissota Health Center.
Tuffy was born on June 15, 1925 in the Township of Bloomer, WI to Walter and Cora (Schfield) Schroeder. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He married Alice Calkins on April 6, 1951 in Gary, Indiana. He farmed in the town of Bloomer and owned and operated Schroeder’s Coroner Bar in New Auburn. He was a member of the Bloomer American Legion and V.F.W. and a life member of the Bloomer Moose.
He is survived by his wife, Alice Schroeder of Chippewa Falls; son Eugene Schroeder of New Auburn; brothers, Walter, Dan, Don (Terry), Alfred (Anna), Roland (Debbie); sisters, Lorrna Langer, Lorraine Reeb, Margaret (John) Domagala and Lucy Harms; one grandson, Charles Schroeder.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Bill and Jack; sisters, Gladys Peerson and Glennis Calkins.
Services will be 1:00 PM Tuesday, May 4, 2010 at the Schriver Funeral Chapel, Bloomer with Pastor Bob Hennmann officiating. Burial will be at Marquart Cemetery, Bloomer with military rites conducted by the Bloomer American Legion and V.F.W.
Friends may call from noon until the time of the service at the Schriver Funeral Chapel, Bloomer.
