Donald R. Williams of Bloomer Wisconsin on January 21st, after struggling with lung disease, passed away quietly in his sleep at the age of 85. Don was raised in Huntley Illinois and moved to Marengo Illinois where he completed his schooling and at the age of 21, took over the management of Roy C. Williams Construction Company, after the passing of his father. He raised his three children in Marengo and in 1974 moved to Sand Creek Wisconsin. During his years in Wisconsin, Don purchased property which he farmed, was a local contractor and restaurateur in partnership with his sister and brother-in-law Ginger and Jerry Nacke in the Williams and Nacke Construction Company and the White Birch Inn, before retiring in New Auburn and then relocating to Bloomer.
 
Don shared his life throughout the years with Alice Lorraine, Joanne Williams and Evelyn Oleson. He is survived by his eldest son Kurt R. Williams and his son Bryon Williams; his daughter Kathi L. Wright; his youngest son Steven R. Williams, wife Cheryl Williams and sons Nathan Jacobs and Joshua Jacobs and their wives and children; his brother Kenton C. Williams and his children Marie Coronel and Tom Williams; and his sister and brother-in-law Virginia and Gerald Nacke and their children John Nacke, Scott Nacke, Teressa Behne and Kathryn Bennett and their children.
 
The family would like thank the caring staff at the Bloomer hospital for making his final stay as comfortable as possible. And also the local Hospice program for their assistance and support to allow Don to pass away, per his wishes, in his home surrounded by family in his final days.
 
A memorial visitation will be held on Sunday, February 7th from 4 to 8 p.m. at Schriver-Thompson Funeral Home, 1806 17th Avenue, Bloomer. Don will be laid to rest in Huntley Illinois in the Spring.
