James L. Bischel, age 72 of Bloomer, died Tuesday, November 8, 2016 at his residence.

He was born on December 13, 1943 to Henry (Margaret) Bischel. James married Annette Van Den Heuvel on April 15, 1967 in Gilman, Wisconsin.  

James loved to spend time with his family playing cards, fishing, hunting and camping.

Together they had five children: Matthew (Tracy) Bischel, Tammy (Jeff) Malinowski, Richard (Jamie) Bischel, Dennis (Miki) Bischel, David (Amberine) Bischel, all of Bloomer; grandchildren: Andrew Bischel, Amanda (Tristan Amani) Bischel, Cody Bischel, Iona Bischel, Brooke Jecevicus, Jacob Malinowski, Adam Malinowksi and Sara Malinowski; great-grandchildren: Christopher Eaton, Elijah Bischel; sisters: Rosemary Kellen, JoAnn Vahlenkamp, Cecelia Schemenauer and Mary Ann LaValle; brothers: Ronald (Joni), John and Joseph (Lisa); sister-in-law’s: Marianne Witschen and Virginia Dobrzynski; brother-in-law’s: Bernard (Kathleen) Van Den Heuvel, Harry (Mary) Van Den Heuvel and Richard (Phyllis) Van Den Heuvel. Further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brother-in-law’s: Mike Kellen, Richard Witschen, Donald Dobrzynski, John Schemenauer, Ralph Swoboda, Roger Vahlenkamp and George Lauer Jr.; and a sister-in-law Beatrice Lauer.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, November 12, 2016 at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Bloomer with Father John Potaczek officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 11, 2016 at Schriver-Thompson Funeral Home from 5 P.M. to 8 P.M. with a 7:30 prayer service.

Burial of cremains will be held at St. Paul’s Catholic North Cemetery with Military Honors at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the charity of your choice.

Visitation

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 11, 2016 at Schriver-Thompson Funeral Home from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. with a 7:30 p.m. prayer service.

Service

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 12, 2016 at St. Paul's Catholic Church.
