January 12, 2018
Lester G. Jenneman, 88, of Siren, passed away Friday, January 12, 2018, at Shell Lake Medical Center with his family at his side.
If left to Lester, his obituary would simply read, “He was born. He lived. He died.” Nevertheless, he also would tell you that LIFE is about the people. And he touched the lives of many.
On August 18, 1929, Lester was born to Godfred and Mary (Pecha) Jenneman in their home in rural Bloomer. Many memories were made in his role of “brother” to 14 brothers and sisters.
Lester married Alice Swoboda on October 2, 1951. He cherished 54 years of marriage to her, prior to her passing in 2005. The life they shared included their four children; Calvin, Mark, Luanne and Lori.
From a father, he proudly moved to “Grandpa”, having a total of 10 grandchildren; Mark, Michael, Rhyan, Amy, Laina, Thomas, Amber, Megan, Mikala and Vada. By the time of his passing, he was “great Grandpa” to a total of 19. Lester was also a friend, a traveling partner, an employer, and a companion to many.
Lester’s career was that of a business man, and business took his young family from Bloomer, to Colfax, to Barron, then Rice Lake, and finally to Siren, Wisconsin. Here, Lester and Alice purchased JB Hanson Hardware in 1973, becoming Jenneman’s Hardware Hank, and operated it until it was bought by his daughter and her husband, Kevin and Luanne Swanson in 1995. Throughout his retirement, Lester remained a resident of Siren, WI until the time of his passing.
Lester is survived by his daughter, Luanne (Swanson) and son-in-law, Kevin. Daughter Lori (Moody) and son-in-law, Brian. His grandchildren; Mark Jenneman (Amy and two children) of Shakopee, MN; Mike Swanson (Kelly and two children) of Siren, WI; Rhyan Richison (and three children) of Menomonie, WI ; Amy Imme (Josh and three children) of Fayetteville, NC; Laina Carter (Brad and three children) of Hillsboro, OH; Thomas Swanson (Jenny and two children) of Hudsonville, MI; Amber Richison of Millford, OH; Megan Kennedy (Jason and one child) of Rice Lake, WI; Mikala Moody (and child) Siren, WI; Vada Moody (and two children) of Siren, WI. Seven siblings; Delores Morning, Marian Bernier, Marvin (Iris) Jenneman, Shirley Gregory, Barbara Mc Clelland, Francis (Judy) Jenneman, and Margie (Richard) Anderl; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. And companion, Marion Doriott.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; his wife, Alice; his sons, Mark and Calvin Jenneman; three brothers, Albert, Delmar, and Adrian Jenneman; and four sisters, Jeanette (Siebel), Esther (Libersky), Delaine (Schindler), and Florine Jenneman.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, May 30, 2018, at Schriver-Thompson Funeral Home in Bloomer. Visitation will be held two hours prior to services at the funeral home.
