Kathleen A. Zwiefelhofer

June 24, 2018

Kathleen “Kutzy” Anne Zwiefelhofer passed away unexpectedly on June 24, 2018, surrounded by her family. She was born December 26, 1939, to John and Agnes Schwartz. She married Ronald Zwiefelhofer on June 6, 1959, at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Bloomer and they were blessed with five children. Kathleen loved her family above everything else and spent her life caring for her children, grandchildren and great-grand children.

She loved to go camping with her family and she and Ronnie took many trips in their motor home with their children and their families. She was an avid quilter and spent many hours working on quilting projects with her sisters and sister-in-law. Kathleen loved baking and decorating cakes and created a cake for each grandchild’s birthday, baptism, and first communion. She volunteered in the library at St. Paul’s School and was affectionately called Grandma by the students there.

She worked at the Farmers Union in Bloomer after graduating from Bloomer High School and then was home to raise her five children. When the children were older she went back to work at the Union and kept the books for Ronnie’s milk hauling business, RZ Transport. She retired at 62.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers Donald and Larry.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years; sons, Brent (Lisa) of Hudson, Brian (Leslie) of Bloomer; daughters, Rhonda (Rodney) Kunsman, Renee (Timothy) Mullen and Richelle (Timothy) Seibel, all of Bloomer; grandchildren, Karl (Michelle) Zwiefelhofer, Grace Zwiefelhofer, Megan (Jordan) LaBlanc, Zachary (fiancée Kylee) Zwiefelhofer, Ashley (Joshua) Eder, Nathan (Kayla) Mullen, Travis Mullen, and Aliya, Emma and Isabella Seibel; great-grandchildren, Paige LaBlanc, Nadia, Nolan and Ayven Eder; sisters, Myrna Meinen, Helen Berge, Linda (Wayne) Frank; brothers, John and James (Bernice); sister-in-law, Jill Schwartz; and by many nieces and nephews.

  • Bruce Webb Sorry to express this late. I am shocked and distraught at the loss of Kutsy, it is like a stab in the heart and so unexpected. Kutsy was the bedrock of our high school class. Always there, always, always involved and ensuring we could get together, and always ready to do the necessary things for the rest of us who were far away. She was such a dear and I am so sorry for her loss for all of us, but particularly for her family whom she loved so much. Last year I attended the festival at the old brewery in Bloomer, I met and talked to one of her grandsons and when I said I had graduated with her, he indicated how proud he was to have her as his grandma. A fine tribute and she was such a fine lady! I am so sorry and extend my deepest condolences for her loss! Bruce Webb, National Harbor, MD
