Barbara B. Hestekin

Barbara B. Hestekin, 86, of Bloomer, passed away Monday, June 25, 2018, at Dove Healthcare in Bloomer.
She was born February 18, 1932, in Mondovi, WI, the daughter of Arthur and Veronica (Voll) Bielefeldt. Barb attended Eau Claire schools and married Thomas A. Hestekin in 1949 and raised their four boys in Eau Claire. In 1983 both Tom and Barb retired and built their retirement home on McCann Lake and moved there in 1986.
Tom passed away in 1997 and Barb remained at the lake until 2006 when she moved back to Eau Claire.
She is survived by her four sons, Michael (Joanne), Patrick (Annette), Richard, and Daniel; nine grandchildren, Michael (Melanie), Jed, Beau (Emily), Sarah (Rick), Stacy (Mitch), Nakia, Gretchen (Justin), Kristen (Justin), and Andrew; ten great-grandchildren, Sydney, Jack, Clayton, Tanner, Hawkin, Greyson, Leela, Landon, Lilliana, and Lydia Ann; and nephew, Donald (Darlene) Granger.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and a brother, Arthur.
The family wishes to thank all Barb’s friends and neighbors for all their help through the years. A special thanks from the family to the staff of Dove Healthcare in Bloomer and for their loving care given to Barb as well as to Heartland Hospice.
In remembering Barb’s wishes, there will be no public funeral service. A Celebration of her life will be held on July 14, 2018, from 1-4 p.m. at Pat & Annette Hestekin’s cabin, N1172 State Hwy 40 in Weyerhaeuser, WI.
Schriver-Thompson Funeral Home & Chippewa Valley Cremation Services in Bloomer is serving the family.

patricia steinberg I was so sorry to hear of the passing of your mom. Her and my mom Ruth were such good friends. They were the modern day outlaws. I have such fond memories of Barb. My entire family is sadden by her death. Prayers for all of you.

Laura Krigsvold-Close I am so sorry for your loss. I have many childhood memories that include your mom and dad, being at their house in Eau Claire and in Weyerhauser, being on the pontoon and with my dad Toby helping when they built their cabin. She was a wonderful woman full of fun and zest! My sympathies to you all.
