Marvin C Pietz
January 16, 2019
Marvin Clayton Pietz, age 89, of Bloomer, WI, passed away peacefully Wednesday, January 16th, 2019 at his family-farm home place surrounded by his family. He was born on a farm that his parents were renting as newly-weds just a couple miles west of the Pietz farm, both in the Town of Auburn.
Marvin grew up in the Town of Woodmohr and graduated from Bloomer High School in 1947. After graduating he worked in several farm-related jobs before moving to Milwaukee to look for work. He became a Greyhound bus driver and during one of his evening connecting routes he met Carol Pawlowske, the love of his life, while she was on her ride home from the university. They were united in marriage on August 13, 1955. Marvin and Carol lived in Oak Creek where they started a family. In 1968 they moved north to Bloomer.
After Greyhound Marvin worked for numerous trucking companies including Specter, C&J Trucking and Babbitt Brothers; retiring from Roehl. He was a member of the Teamster Union.
In retirement, Marvin became restless after a few weeks, so he went to work for All-Ways Transport and Blackhawk Express. He worked for those companies until he was 80.
Marvin’s favorite past-times outside of his retirement jobs were helping Kevin on the farm (especially doing field work), picking berries, gardening and watching sports.
He is survived by his children; son, Kevin (Liz) Pietz of Bloomer and their children, Angela (Finance, Michael Parrett) Wagner and Andrew (Amanda) Wagner; daughter, Mari (Clement “Shorty” Goettl) Pietz of La Crosse and their children, Crystal (Michael) Galetka, Lisa (Geno) Goin, Luke, Lance, Lee and Logan Arneson, Alicia, Calvin and Craig Goettl; daughter, LeighAnn Pietz of Bloomer, and 10 great-grandchildren with a special bond between his great-grandchildren buddies Bella and Alex.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Carol; his sister, Janice Lindberg; his brothers, Arnold, Rollin, and Philip, and his parents, Otto and Theresa (Harms) Pietz
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at the Bloomer Civic Center, 2121 Duncan Road. A visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. with a prayer service and fellowship gathering following. Burial will take place in the spring.

Denny and Carolyn Jouppi To all the Pietz famiy. Kevin, and family, Mari and Shorty and family and Luke, Lance, Lee and Logan, and Leigh-Ann, We want to give you our sympathy in the loss of your dear Dad and Grandpa. He will always have a special place in your heart. We remember him as a soft spoken friendly man who loved his family. He certainly liked to drive buses if he kept it up til he was 80 years old. Amazing. Nice that you could spend a lot of time together living close to him for many years and enjoying the simple pleasures of life as he did. Take care. Carolyn and Denny
